This was by far my longest project i have worked on. I put in many hours of hard work into this to get it perfect, was not easy as i had to clamp and glue planks together to make boards for the desk top and shelving, then had to plane and sand them down to get them to a near perfect finish.
Looking at all the hard work i put into this project i can most certainly be very happy with the end product and what it looks like, was not easy going as the timber i had been supplied with was well below standard, but with my will to succeed, knowledge and skill it all came together nicely.
Dads little helper, always wanting to get involved and wanting to help do some work, one day i am sure dad will let you help and hopefully pass on some skills to do your own projects.
My biggest fear was gluing the planks together to make the shelving boards and desk top, i think i always had the fear of the wood warping out of proportion, but at the end of the day i am totally happy with the work i did, and extremely proud of myself.
The finished product, it all came together nicely in the end.Its nice to look at it and feel proud and i even think i impressed myself and others with the finishing touches, all my own designs went in to this, was nice to be able to see the progress, was slow but worth it in the end.
Thanks to Brian and Jenny for having faith in me and giving me the opportunity to make this beautiful desk for them.
